Programmatically access information on all forms of public transport in London. The ‘Tube this weekend’ feed contains information on planned line and station closures for the coming weekend. The ’Station location’ feed is a geo-coded KML feed of most London Underground, Docklands Light Railway and London Overground stations. The 'Findaride' KML feed contains details of licensed London minicab and other private-hire operators. Registration required.

NYC Way is an iPhone application that bundles a variety of local resources useful for residents and tourists alike. It happens to be one of the first mobile apps to combine a wide variety of datasets from NYC.gov (along with various third-party datasets), location awareness and social media. Experience the power of 30+ NYC-related iPhone apps packaged into one.

Based around the theme of making our government more transparent, NYC Way is a first step to help NYC.gov share their rich datasets with the rest of us. It uses various datasets from NYC Data Mine, and many others available via NYC.gov.

NYC Way is location-aware and provides you with information sorted by proximity. The app allows you to update your Facebook status or send out a tweet about any place you discovered or visited.

In an upcoming release, we plan to implement real-time location v/s interest analysis, and hook the app up to a sophisticated Complex Event Processing backend that will correlate user interests and actions with current situation and location to make valuable local recommendations.

NYC Way includes all of the following and more:

The DIYtraffic Bot is a Java app that can be set up to create a Twitter bot that tweets alerts for any U.S. city from the Yahoo! Traffic API. The bot can also direct message Twitter users traffic updates for specific streets or highways in response to direct message queries.
